NFL Fans in Chicago were treated to an interactive event, Draft Town, celebrating the NFL Draft that took place in the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University in Downtown Chicago at the end of April. Draft Town took over a huge 900,000 square foot area in Grant Park and provided NFL fans with plenty of football-centered activities, games, and meet-and-greets.
NFL Draft Town
Draft Town gave fans the opportunity to visit replica NFL locker rooms, to give fans a look at what NFL pregame is like from a player’s perspective. Fans could also test their athletic skills and see how they stack up against NFL players in the vertical jump and the 40 yard dash at the Combine Corner.
But if you’d rather stick with the fan perspective, it has plenty of cool perks too. There were samples from some of Chicago’s best restaurants at the Draft Town Tailgate. Fans were able to even experience an NFL game in virtual reality.
FoxTales created a four station visual activation allowing fans to create NFL-themed photos and GIFs. Some of the special Draft Town content that fans were able to create allowed fans to select a filter for their favorite team and feature their favorite team’s logo and color desaturation, only showing their team’s colors.
Another activation featured a slow moving cinemagraph smoke over an custom image of fans exiting the tunnel to Soldier Field, creating a truly unique and exciting shareable GIF.
NFL Draft App
One of the coolest parts about Draft Town was the NFL Draft App and how many of the activities and games at Draft Town worked with the app. The FoxTales StoryStudio stations incorporated the app’s capabilities and allowed fans to scan their QR code from the app and receive their Draft Town content straight to their phone through the NFL Draft App.
