We’re thrilled to have just been announced as a finalist for a BizBash 2016 Event Style Award! Our CNN #CampaignCamper is up for the Best Use of Video at an Event category for its user generated video capture and share capabilities integrated with Facebook and CNN’s 2016 election coverage.
To achieve this, we custom designed, fabricated, and wrapped a classic American Airstream trailer and filled it with FoxTales technology. The trailer traveled across the country to hot button locations to allow voters to ask the candidates a question or simply voice how they were feeling about the election. Users could then immediately share the videos from their phone straight to Facebook and Instagram and all of the videos were aggregated in a custom Facebook Gallery tab on CNN’s Facebook page. For both the Republican and Democratic presidential primary debates on CNN, select #CampaignCamper voter videos were aired live during the broadcasts to directly ask the candidates questions.
The visibility of the videos shared across social media and seen during the debates touched millions of voters and its impact led to a social media and politics exhibit at the Newseum in Washington DC.
In addition to the video capabilities of the #CampaignCamper, the mobile experience served as a Facebook Live broadcast hub for CNN and CNN Politics as they covered the primary elections. The camper hosted various Facebook Live segments and interviews throughout CNN’s nationwide tour
